Walk Every Day in May

Image

During National Walking Month, why not challenge yourself to ‘Walk Every Day in May’? It can be as far or short as you want, even just 10 minutes.

Try to challenge yourself to walk a bit more on some days. Walking a mile takes around 20 minutes. It could be easier than you think.

Plan when you are going to walk (before or after work? Or a lunchtime stroll?) and you’re more likely to stick to it. Why not challenge a friend to walk every day?

Download our calendar to mark your progress on and some motivational tips to support you in achieving that daily exercise habit.

If you would like any printed copies of the calendar or top tips, please email  goforlife@n-somerset.gov.uk.

We are passionate about encouraging inactive individuals to move a little more and for them to take small steps towards a realistic goal.

Active Befriending – The Walk and Talk service

Would you like to be more active and go out for a stroll, at your own pace, with a friendly volunteer to keep you company?

Age UKs Somerset's service aims to support older people who would like to benefit from fresh air and becoming more active but don’t feel very confident about going out by themselves. You can find out more at the Age UK Somerset website.

We Are Undefeatable

We Are Undefeatable is a national Sport England campaign that encourages individuals with a long-term health condition to move more. Walking a Mile a Day can help where the level of exercise you can do is limited.

Active 10

The NHS Active 10 app is also the perfect tool to keep you on track towards a regular exercise routine.
